House flag of Société Franco-Suisse de Navigation - Image by Ivan Sache, 9 April 2010
The company, based in Strasbourg, profited from German war reparations after the First World War; at least a dozen barges were named after French military leaders. The company still existed in 1952. For a time at least it cooperated with the Société Suisse de Remorquage, from Basle.

The house flag of Société Franco-Suisse de Navigation, as shown in Flaggen auf dem Rhein (1952) [d9e52], is quartered blue-red-red-blue by a white cross, combining the French and Swiss national colors.
