History of the SNNA

The Société Navale Nord-Africaine (SNNA) was founded in Oran (Algeria) by David Hyaffil and associates (Loewy, Rosenbaum & Co.) as a part of a larger business involving ship purchase, resale and chartering. The shipping branch was transfered to Marseilles in 1923 and suppressed in 1925.

House flag of the SNNA

P. Bois [boi03] shows the house flag of the SNNA as white with a black shield of David in the middle and the red letters "S N N A" in the corners of the flag. The shield of David recalls the Jewish origin of the company owners.
