This Unison pennant was carried on "Pensions Day of Action," 30/11/11. It was discarded after the public sector workers' "Pensions Day of Action" march against the Coalition Government's policies. This is believed to have been the largest coordinated unions' joint protest since the 1926 General Strike and Unison is the largest union to have taken part in it - images from the day from around the UK: http://www.flickr.com/photos/unisonpix/sets/72157628232667507
Here are the same pennants amongst their purple white and green triband flags in Belfast: http://www.flickr.com/photos/unisonpix/6436227625/in/set-72157628232667507
The same colours the other way up in Cambridge: http://www.flickr.com/photos/unisonpix/6436722493/in/set-72157628232667507 - so perhaps they are having difficulty in coordinating their corporate image, as in Bristol: http://www.flickr.com/photos/unisonpix/6436649675/in/set-72157628232667507.
In Scotland vertical green and white bicolours were being used with purple
lettering for slogans on the white -
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/in-pictures-15960381 - a slide show including
photo of the GMB flags carried that were horizontal red and black bicolours
divided 2:1.
The unions involved, as listed on
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-13932304, were The Association of Educational
Psychologists, Aspect, Association of Teachers and Lecturers, the Chartered
Society of Physiotherapy, the Educational Institute of Scotland, the First
Division Association, GMB, National Association of Head Teachers, Napo (family
court and probation staff), the teachers' union NASUWT, Northern Ireland Public
Service Association, National Union of Teachers, Public and Commercial Services
Union, Prospect, the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists, the Scottish
Secondary Teachers' Association, the Society of Radiographers, UCAC (one of the
Welsh teachers' unions), Union of Construction, Allied Trades and Technicians,
University and College Union, Unison and Unite ... an estimated 2,000,000+
people took part, so there should be quite a few flags to spot ... but I
discover on examination that visual awareness is lacking in organising these
demonstrations ... out of practice in calling strikes I guess ... they are going
to get some though in the next few years, so let us hope that we get to see some
more interesting flags and banners.

Another photo of their purple-white-green triband, charged with the union
logo, can be found here:

A variant of the flag has the same pattern as the already reported pennant,
but is a horizontal white flag, as seen here:

There's yet another variant, which is a red
horizontal flag, with a light blue stripe all around the corners, and the logo
on the middle follows the same pattern as the pennant (https://www.unison.org.uk/content/themes/unison/assets/images/isolated-logo.png),
but in this variant, the three lines are also light blue and the letters are
white, as seen here:
