Formed at Chatham 1846.
Granted plain Blue Ensign 1872 even though on tonnage it did not qualify.

The Dumpy Book of Ships and the Sea (1957) shows the burgee divided quarterly blue and white. The upper hoist contains three artillery pieces (yellow?). The lower fly contains an English lion (passant gardant).
