Standard of the President of the Republic

The standard of the President of the Republic (photo, photo, photo, photo) was adopted by Presidential Decree No. 191 issued on 30 July 2020 (text).

The standard of the President of Georgia is a square (1:1) white flag. In the middle of the flag depicts the lesser state coat of arms of Georgia; purpure field is depicted a silver rider on a silver horse and with a silver spear ending with a golden cross, Saint George with a golden halo, striking a silver dragon. The flag of the President of Georgia is bordered by red; the white section is charged with eleven red wolf-teeth that surround the lesser arms.

The crown that sits upon the lesser arms was removed from the design. This design was one of three that was drafted by the State Council of Heraldry Committee and was picked by the Office of Administration of the President of Georgia. It was of note that this design harkens back to the flag used by the Chairman of the Government of the First Republic of Georgia, according to the State Council of Heraldry. There was a later Decree N03/08/01 of 3 August 2020 that issued protocols for use of the presidential standard.
