The municipality of Chaidari (46,897 inhabitants in 2011, 2,266 ha) is a suburbs in the western part of the Athens agglomeration. It is situated west of central Athens, and north of Piraeus.
The municipality was not changed with the 2011 local government reform.

The eastern part of the municipality, where the town of Chaidari is situated, is densely populated and forms a continuous built up area with the inner suburbs of Athens. The Aigaleo hills run through the central part of the municipality. The pine forest of Dafni and the Dafni Monastery lie on the eastern slopes of Aigaleo. The westernmost part of Chaidari is the small industrial port town of Skaramagkas, on the Saronic Gulf near Eleusis.
