The municipality of Pylaia-Chortiatis (70,110 inhabitants in 2011; 15,680 ha) was formed in the 2011 local government reform by the merger of the former municipalities of Chortiatis (Χορτιάτης, 12,866 inh.), Panorama (Πανόραμα, 14,456 inh.; seat of the municipality), and Pylaia (Πυλαία, 22,744 inh.).
