Presentation of Ivanska

The municipality of Ivanska (3,510 inhabitants in 2010, 848 in the village of Ivansaka) is located 15 km south of Bjelovar.
The village is named for its patron saint, St. John the Baptist (Sveti Ivan Krstitelj), to whom a church was dedicated there in the 14th century.

Flag of Ivanska

The symbols of Ivanska are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi Općine Ivanska, adopted on 21 June 2002 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 8 November 2002 in the County official gazette Županijski glasnik Bjelovarsko-bilogorske županije, No. 9.
The symbols are described in Article 7 of the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Ivanska, adopted on 17 July 2009 by the Municipality Assembly and published in the Municipality official gazette Službeni vjesnik Općine Ivanska, No. 2. This is repeated in the current Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Ivanska, adopted on 26 February 2013 by the Municipality Assembly and published in Službeni vjesnik Općine Ivanska.

The symbols were designed by the Heraldic Art d.o.o. company, from Rijeka.

The flag is described in Article 8 of the Decision as follows:

The flag of the Municipality of Ivanska is of a single colour, blue. In the middle of the flag, at the crossing point of the diagonals is the coat of arms of the Municipality, bordered golden/yellow, printed on the two sides of the flag. The ratio of the flag's length to its width is 2:1.

The coat of arms is described in Article 4 of the Decision as follows:

The coat of arms of the Municipality of Ivanska is a semi-circular shield, on white (silver) a yellow-red bonfire - the logs proper, the shield with a green bordure charged with 12 daisy flowers proper.

The arms are canting. The bonfire refers to the name of both the municipality and its patron saint, St. John the Baptist. A daisy is called ivancica in Croatian.

Former symbols of Ivanska

The former symbols of Ivanska were prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi Općine Ivanska, adopted on 25 November 1993 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 2 December 1993 in the official gazette Službeni vjesnik, No. 25.

The flag was in proportions 1:2, blue with the coat of arms in lower fly.
The coat of arms was green with a black depiction of the church of St. John the Baptist between a white daisy flower and a red-white quartered square. Beneath in a white stripe the municipality name and in the base an acorn between two white wheat ears.
