Former flag (horizontal and vertical versions) and coat of arms of Popovača

The first symbols of Popovača were prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi Općine Popovača, adopted on 29 December 1994 by the Municipality Assembly and published in Službene novine Općine Popovača, No. 5.
The symbols were not approved by the Ministry of Administration.

The flag is described in Article 9 as a a five-striped flag, white-red-white-blue-white in proportions 1:1:5:1:1, with the coat of arms in the centre.
Article 10 prescribes the flag for vertical hoisting with the red stripe at the viewer's left and the coat of arms properly rotated.

The description of the coat of arms in Article 6 is somewhat different from the subsequent description, but virtually the same in contents, except "three green tree-tops" added on each side of the central figure.
