Description

Dimona is situated in the NE Negev desert, on Be'er Sheva - Sedom Road. Established in 1955, named after a biblical town (Joshua 15,21-22) and proclaimed as Local Council in 1958 and Municipality in 1969. I was told by the municipality that Dimona is using the emblem on various backgrounds as unofficial flags. (...) The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot, Yalkut ha-Pirsumim), YP 825, 2 March 1961, for the then Local Council Dimona.

In my visit in June 2003 I found only green on yellow flags with no inscription.

The emblem of Dimona (as a local council) appeared on a stamp issued on 24 March 1965.
If the emblem reminds you about something more then a "flower whose center is Magen David", you should remember that Dimona hosts the Nuclear Research City a.k.a "Dimona Nuclear Reactor".
