Jisr Az-Zarqa (in Arabic - The Blue Bridge) was established in
1924 and situated on the hills of the Sharon shore plain, just
beside (and west to) Highway 2 , North to Hadera
, Haifa District, Hadera Subdistrict. Its name come from a bridge
that was erected for the visit of the German Emperor Wilhalem II
in the late 19th century on the nearby stream (Heb.: Nahal
Taninim [crocodiles stream] Arab.: Wadi Az-Zarka
[The Blue Stream]). Local Council since 1963 with 10,400 inh
(2003) almost all Moslems.
The municipal emblem was not registered and I have only a small
image at <www.cityindex.co.il>.
