University of Guilan

The University of Guilan was originally founded in 1974 in Rasht, as the Graduate School of Business. It became the 17th university in Iran after it obtained its approval from the Higher Education Council in 1976. Through a collaborative agreement between Iran and Germany, the university began its activities by accepting 155 students in 9 fields. The largest academic institution in Northern Iran, the University of Guilan is composed of the Faculties of Literature and Humanities, Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Agriculture, Engineering, Physical Education, Art and Architecture, Natural Resources, and Engineering in Eastern Guilan.
