The town emblem was adopted on May 14th 1956 but there is no flag law. The dark blue flag has a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized kanji 茨 Ibara of Ibaraki. The circle symbolizes a reconciliation of the town and the sharp edge does a development of the town.
