OGERO, Organisme de Gestion et d'Exploitation de l'ex Radio Orient, was
founded by the Lebanese state in 1972 to continue the work of the former French
company Radio Orient. Since then OGERO work has evolved to become the main
operator of all networks including fixed telecommunications, Mobile Operators,
Data Service Providers (DSPs) and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in the
country for the benefit of the Lebanese Ministry of Telecommunications. It is
also the core of Liban Telecom, a joint stock company meant to initiate the
privatization of Ogero (enacted on December 2, 2014)
