Dedgum (Frisian: Dedzjum) is a village in Wûnseradiel municipality
in Fryslân province, with (1958) 171; (1974) 97 inhabitants. It is
SSW of Bolsward city. East of Dedgum was the
old Sensmeer (made dry 1633). The hamlet Arkum belongs to this village,
so the "terp" was dug up.
Nickname: "Einekuorren" (duck-cages) indicating the former livelyhood
off the lakes.
Coat of Arms: In green four silver cloverleaves places 1:2:1, with a silver
canton, charged with a red waterlilyleaf.
