Bergh is a municipality southeast of Arnhem. Its name, meaning 'mountain'
may be derived from the castle of 's Heerenberg, called 'Berg', more properly:
'Height, elevation' (in a rather flat countryside). Number of inhabitants
(1 Jan 2003): 18.422; area: 74,98 km². Settlements: 's-Heerenberg
(seat), Zeddam, Beek, Kilder, Stokkum, Braamt, Azewijn, Lengel, Loerbeek,
Wijnbergen, Vethuizen.
The flag was adopted 17 June 1954. Colors and pennies derived from
the municipal coat of arms.

Granted 7 Oct 1818 to the municipality of 's Heerenberg. In 1821 the
municipalities of 's Heerenberg, Zeddam, and Netterden decided to merge,
but the old Coat of Arms was retained for the new municipality of Bergh.
