The municipality of Beesd in the Betuwe region in Gelderland province,
was abolished in 1978 and merged with the newly formed municipality of
Geldermalsen.
The flag of Beesd was: seven vertical stripes of red and blue, proportioned
7:2:2:2:2:2:7; the blue stripes charged with turned
white vairclocks, placed 3,4,3.
It is not quite a banner of arms for reasons unknown.

Description: Gules three pales vaired
The arms are derived from the family van Beesd, which was known since
the 14th century, and belongs to the so-called "De Cock Chatillon"-arms,
found in several Betuwe-municipalities.
