Number of inhabitants (1 Jan 2003): 8.635; area: 33,67 km². Settlements: Eemnes (seat), Eembrugge (part).
In the canton of the flag the three bishop's heads of the Coat of Arms (see Ralf Hartemink's website) - Eemnes had been several times disloyal to the bishops of Utrecht. One of them sent this Coat of Arms to Eemnes as a strong warning.
