Description: three equally high stripes of red, white and black, with in
de white stripe the municipal arms. Adopted 19 Aug 1954 by municipal resolution.
Note: Sierksma's Nederlands Vlaggenboek (1962) has the Coat of Arms at
the hoist, and in his desription the arms are crowned - which is contrary
to his own (uncrowned) drawing.

Description: Black, a fess argent, charged with a red St. Andrew's cross,
with on each side a cipher 11, equally red.
It is said that the ciphers are "4 of 10"; in olden days four out of
ten votes were sufficient to make the settlement into a town.
