Number of inhabitants (1 Jan 2003): 12.835; area: 71,06 km². Settlements: Klaaswaal, Numansdorp (seat).
On 1 Jan 1984 the municipalities of Klaaswaal and Numansdorp merged to form the new municipality of Cromstrijen.
