Krimpen aan de Lek is a former municipality in Zuid-Holland province, since
1985 part of Nederlek, a bit east of Rotterdam.
Flag: 5 stripes of white and blue, proportioned 2:1:1:1:2 and 3 black
crescents (diameter 3/11 flagheight), placed at 5/18 and 13/18 of flaglength,
with the center at 5/14 of flagheight, and at 1/2 flaglength with the center
at 9/14 of flagheight
- however: the execution of the flag is to be done according to the
image attached to the resolution.
adopted 29 Aug 1974 by municipal resolution.
Source: Vexilla Nostra IX (1974): 123.
The image is a waving flag with apparently wavy stripes, proportioned
2:1:2:1:2 - making it virtually impossible to produce a flag according
to that resolution... I have taken the drawing in VN as base for this gif
- straight lines, black crescents pointing upwards on the blue stripes.

by Jarig Bakker, 30 Apr 2005
Granted 24 Jul 1816
Arms: argent three crescents noir, placed 2,1.
The crescents are from the arms of the Van Polanen family, who owned
this area since 1342, and was related to the Wassenaar (= crescent) family.
