Gmina Nowa Karczma is a rural commune in Kościerzyna County, Pomeranian
Voivodship, in northern Poland. Its seat is the village of Nowa Karczma,
which lies approximately 15 kilometres (9 mi) east of Kościerzyna and 39
km (24 mi) south-west of the regional capital Gdańsk.
Area: 113.33 sq.km (43.8 sq.mi); Population: 6,288 (2006); Land under
cultivation - 69%; forests - 18%.
Name of the village comes from the saloon located there at the end
of 18th century. Today it is a restaurant.
