Gmina Elbląg is a rural gmina (commune) in Elbląg County, Warmian-Masurian
Voivodship, in northern Poland. Its seat is the town of Elbląg, although
the town is not part of the territory of the commune.
Area: 192.06 sq.km (74.2 sq.mi); Population: 6,462 (2006)
Arms and flag adopted on March 27, 2003.
"Arms: on the silver shield a red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris)
sitting on the branch of hazel tree (Corylus) with three green leaves
and holding a four-leaf clover (shamrock).
Flag: a rectangle composed of three horizontal bands: red-white green.
On the middle, wide, band the Arms are placed."
The law ("Statut") doesn't specify the width of the bands, but Jens
