Portugal quartered with Leon

In the 1990 portuguese movie Non, ou A Vã Glória de Mandar (see its IMDb info), it is shown a quarted flag with the portuguese arms in I and IV and the leonese arms in II and III. Depending on the historical setting (this movie includes scenes from many wars which occurred in Portugal, from the Roman conquest to the Napolean invasions), this may be anachronic, but it may even be completely incorrect. I, for one, never saw such arms, let alone as a armorial banner. The portuguese quarters show a border — no idea about the precise post-1248 version. (The image above uses the current designs of both coats of arms, which may be an additional error.)
