Komi-Permyak Okrug (Russian: Ко́ми-Пермя́цкий о́круг, Komi-Permyatsky
okrug), or Permyakia is a territory with special status within Perm
Krai, Russia. It was a federal subject of Russia (an autonomous okrug)
until December 1, 2005. It was called Komi-Permyak Autonomous Okrug
(Russian: Ко́ми-Пермя́цкий автоно́мный о́круг; Komi: Перым-Коми автономия
кытш) at that time.
Komi-Permyak Autonomous Okrug was established on February 26, 1925. It
was an administrative division for Komi-Permyaks, a branch of the
Komis, within Perm Oblast. After a referendum held in October 2004,
the autonomous okrug was merged with Perm Oblast to form Perm Krai.
The referendum was held both in Komi-Permyak Autonomous Okrug and Perm
Oblast, and the majority of citizens of both regions voted for
merging.

new flag and Arms of the Komi-Permyak Okrug.
The new laws: N 501-PK (flag) and N 502-PK (Arms), signed by the
Governor of the Perm Krai, O.A.Chirkunov, on October 7, 2009, are

In short, the new flag is described as: "rectangle in the ratio 2:3
composed of three horizontal, equal bands: red-white-blue. In the
center of the red band there is a white "perna" - a solar symbol. In
the center of the white band - a silhouette of the red bear"
The crown added to the new Arms is described as a "princely crown". Chrystian Kretowicz, 19 Nov 2009
