According to what I understand, the emblems were adopted on the 27th
March 2002 with the regional "law" n° 5/2002. The colours of the flag are
coming from the coat of arms.
The coat of arms seems to be made of four historical coats of arms,
from the XVIIth c.
The text mentions the existence of a standard for the president of
the region, with no picture.

there are also the coats of arms of the regional district-capitals at the
