According to the Thai Ministry of Interior in 2000, the flag of Roi Et is yellow with the provincial seal in the center.

The provincial seal shows the shrine of the city pillar (Lak Mueang), which is located in the artificial lake Bueng Phlan Chai. The spirit of the shrine, Mahesak, is highly revered by the local people.
