Description

This method is used by the military and scouts, along with civic groups, however this is not prescribed by law or regulation. Using the above image as a guide:

1. The flag is removed from the pole or surface (table, coffin) and held by the folding party.
2. Take the bottom half of the fold and bring it up towards the top; the result is to show all three stripes even.
3. The bottom and bottom of the flag is folded to meet in the middle white stripe. This makes the red and blue only visible.
4. The fly end is folded into triangle, starting from the top right corner. This fold will meet on the bottom. (This is similar step in folding the United States flag.)
5. With the resulting fold from step four, the triangle continues from right to left. This step is repeated until no more folds could be made. (This is similar step in folding the United States flag.)
6. With the remaining ends, those will be folded into triangles from left to right to create a smaller triangle on the hoist end. (This is similar step in folding the United States flag.)
7. This remaining triangle is tucked into the folded flag, creating a seal to keep the folded flag together. (This is similar step in folding the United States flag.)
8. The flag is completely folded and can be used for storage, display or presentation to the next of kin (in case of a funeral).
