The flag of Silifke, used either horizontally (photo) or vertically, is white, or blue, with the municipality's emblem. "Belediyesi" means "Municipality".
The emblem features a stylized representation of the Silifke bridge and the hill surmounted by Silifke castle.
The current bridge is Ottoman construction so the bridge is classified
as Ottoman. It was constructed over the ruins of the Roman bridge by
Mehmet Ali Pasha, the Ottoman governor of Silifke in 1870.
The Roman bridge was built by the governor of Silifke L. Octavius Memor
on behalf of the Roman emperor Vespasian and his sons Titus and
Domitianus in AD 77 and 78.
The bridge has 5 main spans and 2 smaller spans. Two smaller spans might
be original Roman arches. The total length is 120 m and the width is 5.5
m. Main building material is limestone.
