Altınbaş University

Altınbaş University (website) was established in 2008 by the Mehmet Altınbaş Education and Culture Foundation (Mehmet Altınbaş Eğitim ve Kültür Vakfı).
The university is composed of 8 Schools, 3 Graduate Schools and 3 Vocational Schools.
The university, established as Kemerburgaz University (Kemerburgaz Üniversitesi), adopted its present-day's name on 1 July 2017.

Mehmet Altınbaş (1923-2003) initiated pistachio wholesale operations in Gaziantep in the 1950s. His sons established in 1979 the Ali Vakkas Altınbaş jewelry, based in Cyprus. Jewelry activities were initiated in Turkey in 1985. Altınbaş operates the first and single gold plant in Turkey.
Today, Altınbaş Holding (website) has shares in jewelry (Altınbaş, ASSOS, Onsa Refinery), finance (Creditwest group of companies), energy (Alpet group of companies) and logistic (Transal Denizcilik).

The flag of Altınbaş University (photos) is white with the university's emblem.
The bridge on the emblem refers to the Byzantine aqueducts repaired by Mimar Sinan (1489/1490–1588) after the Ottoman conquest of Constantinople. Known to the Byzantines as Pyrgos (lit., "bastion"), the village was renamed to Burgaz by the Turks, and eventually to Kemerburgaz, kemer meaning "an aqueduct".

Beykent University (Beykent Üniversitesi) was established on 9 July 1997 by Law No. 4,282. The university was founded by the Adem Çelik-Beykent Educational Foundation (Adem Çelik-Beykent Eğitim Vakfı).
The university is composed of 8 Faculties, 3 Schools, 1 Vocational School and 2 Institutes.

BVÜ (website), established in 2011 by the Directorate General of Foundations, is composed of the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Health Sciences and Pharmacy, of 4 Institutes and of 1 Vocational School.

The flag of BVÜ (photo, photo, photo, photo, photo) is white with the university's emblem.
The emblem features the building housing the university's rectorate, the historical Bezmiâlem hospital erected in 1843.

Biruni University

Biruni University (website), established by Law No. 6,525, passed on 27 February 2014, is composed of 6 Faculties, 2 Institutes, 1 School and 1 Vocational School.
The university is named for Al-Biruni (973-1048), "scholar and polymath of the period of the late Samanids and early Ghaznavids and one of the two greatest intellectual figures of his time in the eastern lands of the Muslim world, the other being Ebn Sīnā (Avicenna)."

Fatih University

Fatih University was established in 1996 by the Turkish Association of Health and Medical Treatment. The university was composed of 9 Faculties, 5 Institutes ans 3 Vocational Schools.
In the aftermath of the aborted coup of 15 June 2016, Fatih University was among the 15 universities closed down by the Decree proclaiming the State of Emergency, adopted on 23 June 2016, for alleged "links with the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETů, the name given to the Gčlen movement by the Turkish government).

Golden Horn University

Golden Horn University (website) was established by Law No. 4,324, published on 14 January 1998 in the Turkish official gazette. The university was founded by the Foundation for Children with Leukemia.
The university is composed of 5 Faculties, 3 Institutes, 3 Schools and 1 Conservatory.

The flag of the university (photo, photo, photo) is white with the university's emblem.
The emblem represents a map of İstanbul's historic peninsula, with the Golden Horn on the left, crossed by two bridges. The university's main campus is located in the borough of Şişhane, located on the northern shore of the Golden Horn, close to Atatürk Bridge.

İbn Haldun University

İHÜ (website) was established in 2015 by the Turkish Youth and Education Service Foundation (Türkiye Gençlik ve Eğitime Hizmet Vakfı- TÜRGEV). The foundation was established in 1996, as the İstanbul Youth and Education Service Foundation (İstanbul Gençlik ve Eğitime Hizmet Vakfı - ISEGEV), by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, then Mayor of İstanbul.
İHÜ, inaugurated in May 2017, is composed of 5 Schools and 4 Institutes. Classes are expected to start in fall 2017.

İHÜ is named for the Arab historian Ibn Khaldūn (1332-1406; biography), author of Kitāb al-ʻIbar (Book of Lessons), a universal history of the time. The first volume of the book, Muqaddimah (Introduction; English translation) presents a theory of social conflict that inspired sociologists and philosophers after the western rediscovery of the book in the 19th century.

The university is composed of 5 Faculties, 3 Schools, 1 Vocational School and 3 Institutes, located on two campuses (Tepekent and Sefaköy).

İstanbul Aydın University

İAÜ (website) was established on 18 May 2007 by Law No. 5,656, published in the Turkish official gazette, No. 26,536. İAÜ was founded by the Aydın Education and Culture Foundation (Aydın Kültür Ve Eğitim Vakfı - AKEV), incorporating Anadolu BIL College of Vocational Education, founded in 2003. İAÜ is named for Mustafa Aydın (b. 1956), who founded AKEV in 1995, together with a group of academicians and businessmen.
İAÜ is composed of 11 Faculties, 3 Vocational Schools, 2 Schools and 3 Institutes.

The flag of İAÜ is white with the university's emblem. The emblem is used in two versions:
- the official, seal-like emblem (photo, photo, photo, photo, photo);
- a "close-up" of the seal-like emblem (photo, photo, photo, photo, photo).

İstanbul Commerce University

İstanbul Commerce University (İstanbul Ticaret Üniversitesi - ITICU) (website), founded in 2001 by the İstanbul Chamber of Commerce, caters more than 1,100 students. The University is made of the Faculties of Arts and Science, Commercial Sciences, Law, Communication, and Engineering and Design.

The flag of ITICU (photos, 27 December 2009) is golden yellow with the university's emblem in the middle.
The emblem of ITICU is a golden yellow disk outlined in black, with, in the middle, a logo seemingly formed with the letters "I", "T", "C" and "U", placed on four steps, surrounded by the university's name and foundation year, all in black.

İstanbul Culture University

İKÜ (website) was established in 1997 by the Kültür Schools Foundation (KEV). The founder of KEV, Fahamettin Akıngüç, is the son of Halil Akıngüç (1900-1957), who established in 1932 the first private preparatory school in Turkey, Kültür Dersevi.
İKÜ is composed of 8 Faculties and 3 Vocational Schools.

The emblem of İKÜ was designed, in Bauhaus style, by Kudret Güvenç and Ömür Candaş in 1996. The writing uses the Frutiger font.

İstanbul Medipol University

İMÜ (website), established on 7 July 2009 by the Turkey Education Health and Research Foundation (TESA), carries out education on Haliç and Kavacık campuses in İstanbul. Internship and some applied classes of the students are carried out at Medipol University Hospital in Bağcılar, which is one of the biggest private hospitals of Turkey.
