The emblem of the municipality features Hollow Rock (Delikli Kaya).
There are hollow caves of varying sizes on rock masses elevating along the valley watered by Fındıcak and Çınarcık creeks. Dating back to the Lower Paleolithic and formed in a natural way, these small caves were expanded for shelter. There are many prehistoric caves, places of refuge, and residential areas discovered in the region. Hand axes, spearheads, and sharp objects from the Paleolithic period were found here. The excavations revealed artifacts of more advanced workmanship like pots and pans, earrings, bracelets, knives, wedges, arrow heads, pins, etc. Findings collected from this site are put on display at Samsun Museum of Archaeology.
