The Flag

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"The flag was conformed by the decision 244 of the regional council from September 15, 2000 and represents a rectangular panel with a ratio of the parties 2:3, which consists of vertical strips - red, yellow, dark blue, yellow and red. A width of strips ratio is 8:3:2:3:8. The authors are V.Kryvenko, K.Dorozny."

From the site of Ukrainian Heraldry:
"The modern emblem was confirmed by the Ulyanivs'kyi region councile by the solution 244 from September 15 2000. In a gules field is or wave pale with azure fillet wave pale on it.
The shield is crowned by or wheaten sheaf accompanied by two or decorative branches, and argent towel with blue Ukrainian ornament. The shield is framed by two or oak branches, connected by blue ribbon with motto "ACTIVITY BEARS OF HONOUR" and gules viburnum.
The gules field resembles of a history of region. Azure means Synytsia river, or means wheaten fields. Oak is main tree in flora of region. Total oak leaves (26) responds quantity of settlements of region. Viburnum is most popular plant of the Ukrainian mythology and folklore, implementation of a solar energy, nutrient force of ground, water and air."

"It is arranged in southwest part of Kirivohrads'ka oblast'. Historically grounds of the Ulyanivs'kyi region were a part of Bratslavs'ke Podillya."
