Description of the flag

The flag of the City of Washington, North Carolina, is white with three horizontal stripes yellow-red-yellow going through the middle of the flag, interrupted by the city seal in the center of the flag. The City also has a burgee, which is white with red horizontal stripe in the middle with Washington coat of arms towards the hoist and the words "Washington, NC" in white. "Washington is a city in Beaufort County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 12,946 at the 2008 census. It is the county seat of Beaufort County. The closest major city is Greenville, approximately 20 miles to the west. Established in 1776 in land donated by Col.
