Description of the flag

The flag divided horizontally, the upper half consisting of 8 blue and white stripes, the lower half green, over all the seal depicting a tower on a building on a white disk, surrounded by a green ring bearing the name, and below the seal 7 yellow stars and in the lower hoist the date 1854.

The flag, designed by Judy Rohwer, was adopted in 2005.
"Judith Rohwer is a graduate of Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa, with bachelor degrees in art and elementary education. She taught fifth grade in Iowa, Utah, and at Brownell-Talbot College Preparatory School in Omaha, Nebraska. Now retired, she and her husband, Marvin, farm and work on their art at their home north of Omaha."
