Introduction

The NWSL (National Women's Soccer League) was founded in 2012 and is the top division for women's soccer (football) in the United States. Information about this league, including their history, is at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Women%27s_Soccer_League. The flag used by the league was spotted at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas. Looking at the Twitter post at https://twitter.com/KRossChaosKC/status/1538906842314711042, the flag is red with the league logo in the center. The design behind the logo can be seen at https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/new-womens-league-has-name-logo, though it follows a lot of the sport leagues in the USA where it uses the colors of the US flag and uses a silhouetted (unknown at this time) player to denote action (similar to the NBA logo that used Jerry West as the silhouetted player.

The sky blue flag next to the league flag belongs to that of the KC Current, who was founded in 2020 and began play in 2021 when the league resumed after Covid-19 paused operations. The badge of the club was released to the public on 30 October, 2021, after their final home game of the season: https://www.kansascitycurrent.com/news/kansas-city-current-reveals-name-and-crest-at-inaugural-seas. The badge was created by Kansas City based design company Willoughby Design https://willoughbydesign.com/project/kansas-city-current/.

There are only five flag poles at this stadium, and while I have been there for Sporting Kansas City matches, I have not gone for Current matches so I am not sure if the fifth pole always has the Progress Pride flag flag on it or not. However, they do not have flags of the opposition (unlike with the MLS matches where the opponents of Sporting KC will have a logo flag present).
