The New Hampshire State Police is a state law enforcement agency that falls under New Hampshire's Department of Safety. The State Police are responsible for patrolling state highways and enforcing the state's highway and traffic regulations. Their jurisdiction is limited to toll roads, interstate highways, and towns of less than 3,000 people. The State Police
trace their lineage to legislation that was signed by the state's governor in 1869.
The flag of the New Hampshire State Police can be found in several photographs online, including some of the NHSP website. The flag features the New Hampshire state seal centered on a field of the same color greenish-blue as the uniform tunics worn by the officers and troopers. Arched above the seal in gold capital letters are the words "NEW HAMPSHIRE," with the words "STATE POLICE" arched below the seal in similar lettering.
