Description of the flag

The Carolina Yacht Club was established in 1883. It has its current location since 1907 in Charleston, South Carolina. From the South end of Charleston, the club looks past Fort Sumter out into the Atlantic Ocean.

The club's burgee is a red field bearing a white five-pointed star, with a double blue hoist triangle. The size of the star seems to vary over time.

The American Yachts List for 1891 - Thomas Manning shows the same burgee and also shows officers' flags.
