The TIYC home page gives us:
Treasure Island Sailing Activity (TISA) – Established in July 1965.
The TIYC was formed as the Treasure Island Sailing Club in January, 1966 as a branch of the United States Naval Sailing Association.
“TI Club’s Burgee The Burgee of the Club is a pennant with a blue field and a gold horizontal stripe running from the hoist to the point, the gold stripe having a vertical [height] equal to one-fourth the vertical height of the hoist. The [ratio] of the hoist to the fly is two to three.” from the Masthead 1967
Start of 1978, the name was changed to Treasure Island Yacht Club, to include power boats.
In 1981, depictions of the burgee changed to a design that, when hung vertical, would include a T over I on the stripe.
By 1995, the burgee was pictured as having letters TI on the horizontal stripe.
For their 50 years anniversary 1966-2016, the TIYC had an Anniversary Burgee. Design by Jim Aberer (pictured on the same page).
