The Flag

"When designing the flag, we really wanted it to be descriptive of our heritage and origins. At the top, we have a Cherokee Water Spider (part of the "First Fire" legend, in which the Water Spider preserves fire for the Cherokee People); at the bottom, we have a representation of a traditional
Cherokee settlement, along with crops that would be grown. The right side represents the various bays that our ancestors would have used for vital resources, while the left side represents a river, filled with cypress trees, another area of vital resources."
