The Australian Government policy for flag use in the territories is that the territories are represented by the Australian National Flag. Territories that have a separate administration at territory or local government levels may adopt a flag for community or representational use if they wish. Certain territories do not have a separate administration or even a resident population, and the Australian Government neither proposes nor produces distinctive flags for these territories.
