Overview

Tomislavgrad - Image made according to the Coat of Arms from <www.tomislavgrad.net>, flag was described to my by a regular visitor of my pages, Marko Puljic.
The flag is white over red bicolour, probably in ratio 1:2, with coat of arms in the middle. The coat of arms is: per fess, chief Gules a Crown Or, base Argent a Church Gules. Shield is bordered Or, in base surrounded by a wreath of mais and topped by the name of the city. The crown is, I guess, the same crown which apears on several Croatian county flags, there referred as the crown of king Zvonimir. The crown is set here as symbol of the first Croatian king Tomislav who was crowned in the fields surrounding the city in year 925. The church is (presumably) the main church in the city. Tomislavgrad is name of the city reintroduced in 1990's, previously called Duvno. The city was first renamed to Tomislavgrad in 1920's, during the celebrations of millennium of Croatian kingdom (it was told that the city was actually named in honour of the son of the Yugoslav king, prince Tomislav, who is in turn named after the old Croatian king for the same occasion). After the WWII the city was again renamed back to Duvno, until 1990's.
Today, Tomislavgrad is one of the three capitals (sic! according to my last info) of the Herzeg-bosna county (Hercegbosanska županija), mainly populated by Croats.

The flag and Coat of Arms can be seen at www.centarnet.com/tomislavgrad (defunct). There are few differences between the image at the site and the one on top.

Today this page is available at www.opcinatomislavgrad.com (I guess this may be just the different URL of the same page). The page refers to the decision adopting legislation: Odluka o grbu i zastavi opcine Tomislavgrad, 12. lipnja 1997. godine, Službeni glasnik opcine Tomislavgrad, br.1, str.4.
The church is there named as the Duvno Basilica.
The flag is bicolour of white over red with the coat of arms in the middle - consisting only of the yellow outlined shield. The flag with the name of the city and the wheat seems to be ceremonial flag, but is reported as Table Flag only.
