I have only briefly looked at the book, but first impressions
are very positive. The volume is hardbound and very nicely
illustrated throughout, mostly in colour. Illustrations include
many illustrations of flags and various proposals for flags,
interesting photographs, and photos of artefacts relevant to
Canadian identity. Contents include the following chapters:
Identity Crisis
Badge of Honour
A Flag Now
Maple Leaf Rising
I Stand for Canada
The chapters take the reader through the process of finding a
suitable flag for Canada, and all the way through to current uses
of the Canadian flag and the maple leaf emblem. There is also a
two-page bibliography. This is a book I am looking forward to
reading. Jan Oskar Engene, 21 Nov 2002
