Remarks: Frequently refered to as "Flaggen-Almanack" (with
"k" at the end), which is erroneous; edition date unclear, different
sources quote it as either 1835, 1844 or 1845.
Dating of undated flag books or plates thus becomes a puzzle. I
tried to do this some time ago with the Flaggen-Almanach [dpr44], that
I then tentatively dated as from about 1844. The only good evidence in
dating something like this, I learned, is the presence of a new flag;
from this you can conclude that the book/plate is not older than this
new flag, but you can’t say if it has been made one, ten or hundred
