The municipality of Herval d'Oeste (21,233 inhabitants in 2010; 22,241 ha) is located 400 km west of Florianópolis.

Description of the Flag

A yellow flag with a large black lozenge, bearing a white disk with the municipal arms in the centre.

The flag and arms of Herval d'Oeste are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 853 promulgated on 13 November 1984.

Article 2.
The flag of the municipality is composed of a black lozenge on a yellow field, the lozenge's center being charged with a white sphere inscribing the coat of arms.

Article 3.
The official dimensions of the municipal flag shall be:
Yellow field: 1.20 m in length on 0.90 m in width.
Black lozenge: Greater axis, 1.00 m; lesser axis, 0.63 m.
Sphere: 0.45 m in diameter.
Coat of arms: 0.4O m from the scroll's base to the tangent to the three towers: 0.33 m between its lateral tangents.

Article 5.
The coat of arms of the municipality shall be composed of a Samnite shield surmounted by a three-towered mural crown or. On a field argent a pig's head sinister, the Southern Cross dexter, in the center a cogwheel sable in base a locomotive with three wagons. Beneath the shield a scroll or inscribed in letters argent the toponym "Herval d'Oeste' surrounded dexter by the number and sinister by the date of the Law of political emancipation of the municipality. The shield supported sinister by a maize plant and dexter by a yerba mate plant the two proper.
