Sandersdorf-Brehna Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, hammer and mallet Gules over a leaf of water lily, chauseé Sable.
Meaning:
The division of the shield is alluding to the local brown coal mining, also referred to by hammer and mallet, the typical symbols of mining. The leaf is symbolising that the city belonged to former Bitterfeld County and the historical County of Brehna.

The symbols were approved for Sandersdorf,one of predecessors of the current city as follows: The arms were approved on 7 August 1939 by Oberpräsident of the Prussian Saxony Province. Flag and banner were approved on 14 September 1998 by District Governor (Regierungspräsident) of Dessau. Sandersdorf-Brehna overtook these symbols not before 2009 and gained the title of a city by incorporating the former city of Brehna
