Wassertrüdingen Coat of Arms

Shield quartered, 1st and 4th quarter Gules a chest Or, 2nd and 3rd quarter quartered of Argent and Sable.
Meaning:
In 1371 the Burgraves of Nürnberg acquired the city. A seal from 1387 already displayed the current pattern. The 2nd and 3rd quarters display the arms of the burgraviate. The chest (German: Truhe) is punning. Local seals from the 16th century until 1937 displayed the chest alone. In between there had been numerous erroneous depictions of the chest as bench, frying pan or stump. Otto Hupp (1925) displayed a silver chest in a red shield.
