Baiersdorf Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter quartered of Argent and Sable, at sinister Argent on base Vert a sentinel dressed Vert with hat, belt and boots Sable, holding a spear Or in bend sinister and blowing a horn Or.
Meaning:
Baiersdorf was first mentioned as a city in 1353. Prints of city seals are known since 1458, already displaying the current pattern. The quartered shield is referring to the Burgraves of Nürnberg as local rulers. The appearance of the sentinel often changed. He was also depicted as savage, postman, herdsman or hunter. The tinctures were introduced in1835.

The arms are traditional, the current version was confirmed in 1963. The flag colours are those of the Zollern kin.
