It is a white - blue vertical bicolour. The coat of arms is shifted to the top.

Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The silver (=white) field is divided by seven blue bars, the whole is superimposed by a black tower having a triangular roof.
Meaning:
According to source the bars have been taken from the arms of the barons of Horstmar, which had real estates and the right of cognisance in the area. The tower is that one of the local church.

The banner was approved by minister of interior of Northrhine-Westphalia on 27 March 1961, the coat of arms by Oberpräsident of Prussian province of Westphalia on 1 April 1939.
