Westerstetten Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above parted per pale of Argent and Gules, beneath simply Azure.
Meaning:
The municipal arms are those of the Lords of Westerstetten. They had been in use on municipal stamps, probably since the 19th century, but surely since 1929. The colours in chief were exchanged in order to distinguish the municipal arms from the family arms. This caused however an unwanted congruence with the municipal arms of Schechingen. Its local rulers had been relatives of the Westerstetten kin. So the former version was restored soon.

The arms were adopted by the municipality and in 1956 confirmed by Minister of Interior of Baden-Württemberg. The banner was approved on 2 August 1974 by by Minister of Interior of Baden-Württemberg, published in GABl 1107/1974.
