Hollenstedt Comprehensive Municipality

Description of flag:
It is a green over white horizontal bicolour. The coat of arms is in the centre of the flag.

Description of coat of arms:
In a green shield is a golden imperial crown. The shield has a golden bordure superimposed by seven red discs.
Meaning:
The crown reminds on Franconian King and later "Roman" Emperor Karl der Gro?e, aka Charle Magne, who held peace negotiations in Hollenstedt in 804 A.D. in order to reconcile struggles between the Slavic tribes east of river Elbe. Each disc is representing one of the municipalities belonging to Hollenstedt. They are Appel, Drestedt, Halvesbostel, Hollenstedt proper, Moisburg, Regesbostel and Wenzendorf.

Appel Municipality

Description of flag:
The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a blue over yellow horizontal bicolour. In its centre is the coat of arms plus a white border. I took the image of the coat of arms from the Samtgemeinde (sub)-page. The tinctures of that image however did not fit the flag's colours.
Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per pale. The chief shows in a golden (=yellow) field a red farmhouse with black pilework, a black roof and topped by crossed black horseheads. The base shows a white swan, armed red, swimming towards the dexter side. Note that the white border from the flag is not part of the coat of arms.
Meaning:
There are many swans in the creeks of the municipality. The farmhouse is symbolizing that the village is located in Lower Saxony and turns out the importance of agriculture. The four parts of pilework are symbolizing the four hamlets from which the municipality was built.

Drestedt Municipality

Description of flag:
The ratio of the flag is 3:5. It is a red over white over red tricolour with a white disk in its centre containing the municipality's coat of arms.

Note: The size of the disk given within source is mathematically impossible, it is probably meant to be 2/3 of height.
Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per pale. The dexter side is three times divided per fess by alternating red and white bars (i.e. there are four bars) starting with a red one. The sinister side is a silver field with three red houses with black roofs and separating lines in a vertical order.

Meaning:
The three cottages are symbolizing the municipality's name. Drestedt was built of three hamlets. The four bars are symbolizing that Drestedt, before being an independent municipality, belonged to the four villages (German. Vierdörfer), which were Sprötze, Kakenstorf, Trelde and Drestedt.

Halvesbostel Municipality

Description of flag:
The ratio of the flag is 3:5. It is a white over green horizontal bicolour with centred arms.

Description of coat of arms:
Shield parted per bend sinister; above right Vert, a shrub of Marsh Labrador Tea (Latin: Ledum palustre), leaved and stemmed Gules, blossomed Argent, the blossoms seeded Or; beneath left Or a fallow deer's antler Sable.
Meaning:
The shield partitiion reminds on the separation of Halvesbostel proper and Holvede, which had been parts of Halvesbostel municipality in the past. The plant is covered by nature protection and still exists in the municipality. The antler is symbolising local forests and deer.

Hollenstedt Municipality

Description of flag:
The ratio of the flag is 5:2. It is a plain white flag with the municipality's coat of arms shifted to the top.
Description of coat of arms:
In a red shield is a silver (=white) axe with a golden (=yellow) handle and the blade pointing to the dexter chief.
Meaning:
In former days the axe was used to mark those trees, which had to be cut.

Moisburg Municipality

Description of flag:
The ratio of the flag is 3:5. It is a white over blue horizontal bicolour with the coat of arms in the centre of the flag.
Source: I spotted this flag on 7 October in Moisburg in front of the town hall.
Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per pale. On the dexter side in a silver (=white) field is a red tower crowned by five pinnacles. The tower has six black embrasures and a white line in its dexter half. The tower also has a black open gate with an ajar silver (=white) portcullis. The sinister side is a blue field divided by a silver (=white) fess, which is superimposed by three red pales. I chose the six-embrasures version, I found at the town hall in Moisburg. The municipality's webpage shows a four-embrasures version.
Meaning:
The tower is symbolizing the Mesdeborg, which gave the municipality its name. The sinister side is the coat of arms of the von-Heimbruch family, being chiefs of castle for a long time.
